spidey's catchphrase should be 'face it, parker'.

turns out, it's common practice for pete's friends to come by his apartment while he's out or sleeping and play the part of an alarm clock, or just hang around drinking his tea and listening to his vinyls. how did he manage to not get outed as spider-man, i do not know.

i just love this entire page. the look on glory's face! it's like she's being thrown into a lion's den, which is actually mostly true.

i remember my surprise when i was reading amazing spider-man and glory was there as jonah's secretary all of a sudden. now i know i should've been reading spectacular spidey along with his 'amazing' book, but what can you do? i've just started catching up with it yesterday when i learned that peter's teaching career is covered mostly in spectacular spider-man. pete as a teacher? this i gotta see!

a terrorist group 'people liberation front' kidnaps j. j. j. for writing scathing editorials about them. jj tries negotiating first, but then he learns that the terrorists want to make an example of him and kill him anyway.

really, the more i read about this man, the more confusing my feelings about him get. how can you be so lame and so great at the same time?
he's also suddenly unsure whether he was right about spidey, фnd that's after all the shit he gave him over the years. well, that's new. usually he keeps calling peter names even while getting rescued heroically by the guy.
![](http://static.diary.ru/userdir/1/0/7/0/1070487/thumb/84203312.jpg)
he's probably gonna be back to hating spidey's guts by the end of the issue though.

i don't really understand this whole 'who's the real nathan summers' issue everyone seems to have. and cable seems to be despondent about being stryfe's 'clone', too. they are both real people, being a clone doesn't make you any less of a person.
doing things that stryfe did does make you an asshole though.

it's just so cute, nate and g. w. are trying to break each other's bones, and kane's just like, coffee's done, guys. looks like a scene straight out of a sitcom.
the only thing that's lacking is wade sitting there in the corner and cheering for g. w., 'yeah, smack him harder, he deserves that for leaving our shared comic book. which is going to happen more than a decade later, but anyway.'

okay, can i take back what i said about palmiotti?
wade had a chance to shoot frank in the face twice, but rambled instead and missed them both. isn't his mouth supposed to be his weapon, not a weakness?

it's only gonna go further downhill, isn't it. new writers don't even try to keep up with the plot, it seems.
wade suddenly has a problem about being a 'contract killer'.
![](http://static.diary.ru/userdir/1/0/7/0/1070487/thumb/84184146.jpg)
and he also has his image inducer back, although he'd broken it a few issues back and still hasn't tracked weas down to get a new one. continuity, jimmy, ever heard of it?

'the sack' joke was pretty funny tho.

As much as i love Kelly's writing, you gotta admit that stolen identity story arc is exactly that: a clusterfuck. It doesn't make much sense, and as far as i remember, it isn't even addressed in further volumes, with the sole exception of Cable & Deadpool.
For those of you who haven't been re-reading the first volume recently like i have, i'll help refreshen your memory. T-Ray brings back from the dead one Mercedes (supposedly) Wilson without her even knowing she's been dead for many years and sets her up to meet Deadpool, who recognises her as his late wife. We learn that Wilsons used to be a couple of happy tree-hugging teachers, until one winter day they pulled a barely alive stranger named 'Jack' from the river and decided to help him, only for him to lash out at them, kill Mercedes and leave 'Wade' for dead.
T-Ray gives them some time to reconnect and even start making plans, and then abducts them to tell his version of this story: that he is the real Wade Wilson, and Deadpool's 'Jack', who wanted to steal 'Wade's identity along with his wife's love in order to escape his employers whom he'd failed. But 'Jack' accidentally murdered Mercedes along with 'Wade' and went insane over that, while 'Wade' lived, trained to become a mercenary and eventually the abominable albino he is today.
All the evidence in relation to Deadpool's and T-Ray's real identities is listed here.
To me, neither version adds up. I've always thought that T-Ray is just bonkers, and he dragged Deadpool into this just so that he has someone to blame for what he's become, and because he's a sadisic motherfucker, too. He might've offed his poor wife himself for all we know, and contrived 'Jack' to distance himself from that crime. Any memories Deadpool shares with him and Mercedes could've easily been instilled, T-Ray is a powerful magician after all. That would add him to the long list of people who's tampered with Deadpool's mind.

life just won't give monty a break, will it? on the other hand, i'm glad that seeing him again made zoe realise that she's too good for these l,l&l jerks. she's so cool, she deserves much better than this. she packs a mean punch, she's energetic and hard working, and she has a lot of good in her, especially if she leaves her former employers' mindset behind along with the job. really, almost every time she shows up in the comic, we can see her internal conflict between aiming for a brilliant career in a company that thoroughly chews people and then spits them back out and being a decent human being.
as for monty, i must say he's one of my favorite supporting characters. he's small and fragile and utterly tragic, and he's still clinging to the remains of his hopes and dignity. he's very snobby (seriously, how can a guy who needs help hitting the head have such a long stick up his ass?) and has a sense of humor, which makes his unteractions with deadpool hilarious. i need more of this guy. i also need a college au fic where wade and monty are roommates, and wade's constantly being a jerk to him and pulling pranks on him, but is furiously protective of the guy if anyone else dares as much as look at him wrong. that's just how wade manages friendships, words 'friend' and 'punching bag' are interchangeable.
okay, while i'm rambling about ish 31 and supporting characters, i should also mention ilaney. she's one of my favprites, too, and the fact that she never reappears in further volumes makes me sad. there's a stark contrast between the way she is portrayed when she first appears as a gloomy recluse with a heavy weight on her conscience and the way she is throughout the comic book; she really needed the jolt deadpool gave her, shocking her into moving on with her life. she's just so eager and friendly, such an unlikely friend for someone like wade, and yet that's exactly what they are.
